Lahore: The third edition of National Disabled Cricket Championship 2011 will be held in Bagh-e-Jinnah Stadium and LCCA Cricket Ground Lahore from Sept 8, this was announced by Hon. Secretary Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association (PDCA) Amir Uddin Ansari in a Press Conference at Lahore Press Club on Wednesday. Event Co-ordinator Javed Ashraf, Media Manager Muhammad Nizam and others were also present on the occasion.
Amir Uddin Ansari said the Twelve Teams from across the country drawn in four groups will take part in the championship. Karachi will be defending their title in the competition.
Handsome prize money of Rs: 2, 00,000 will be at the offer. The winners will get Rs: 1, 00, 000 and runners-up Rs: 50,000. The Opening Day the runners-up team of last year Rawalpindi / Islamabad will meet Faisalabad Cricket Team at LCCA Cricket Ground while Peshawar Cricket Team will face Azad Kashmir Cricket Team at Bagh-e-Jinnah Cricket Stadium Lahore at 10:00am. Hon. Secretary also said that the PCB one-day cricket Playing Conditions will apply in the Event and PCB Qualified Umpires and Match Referee will supervise the matches.
Group ‘A’ and ‘B’ matches will begin from Sept 8 in Lahore while winners of each group will contest in first semi-final on Sept 11.
Winners of Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ will clash from Sept 30 in Karachi. The date and venue of the final will be decided later.
Besides team prizes, cash prize for the Best player, Best batsman, Best bowler and Best fielder will also be given apart from the man-of-the-match award in every match.
