Pakistan Disabled Cricket can be said to be very lucky and richest in the sense that its players are present in every part of Pakistan. When someone goes out to play or watch a cricket match in the area, people pave the way for him as soon as they see him, because he has not only demonstrated his abilities with his courage, determination and enthusiasm, but also the PDCA.He is getting a lot of respect in Pakistan and outside Pakistan as well. Among them is Hamza Hameed, a young disabled cricketer from Hyderabad, Sindh who, despite his disability in his youth, has paved new paths of determination not only for disabled but also for normal cricketers.
As a child, Hamza Hameed feet were severely affected by polio, which made it difficult for him to walk. He was able to get an education but his cricketing obsession was at an extreme level despite being disabled. He is naturally gifted with batting skills, if he did not have polio, he would have been a great opener in normal cricket. From the start, he liked to open aggressively like former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal. Despite his disability, his family never stopped him from playing cricket but encouraged him at every step, with the result that Hamza Hameed continued to play regular matches for normal cricket clubs.
Hamza Hameed, from Liaquat Colony Hyderabad, joined Pakistan Disabled Cricket in 2017. Hyderabad coach Iqbal Malik (Former First Class cricketer) saw Hamza Hameed batting in a normal cricket match and advised him to play disabled cricket and when the National Disabled Cricket Championship was held, Hamza Hameed was also selected as the batsman. He played well in his first National Disabled Championship and played many memorable innings. Based on his outstanding performance in the same event, his name was also included in the Patangular Cup where he represented Federal Areas. In the same event, he played an innings of 96 runs against Sindh which is also his best score so far. ۔ He has scored three fifties in domestic disabled cricket. Despite the breakdown of his right foot, he is also a smart and effective fielder who does not allow the batsman to steal runs easily.
Hamza Hameed, 24, was included in the National team that toured England thanks to his excellent batting in the domestic, where he played in the World Series matches. He represented Pakistan in all four matches of this tournament, his aggressive play against India was visible. Against a traditional opponent, he was dismissed for 33 off just 11 balls, including two sixes and four fours. He also scored 27 runs against England. “I was unlucky to get out early against India.” Hamza Hameed reminded of this match. “The ball was coming very well on my bat and when I hit two sixes, I thought I would score big today. In the same match, some of my shorts were also praised by the Indian players. You can see that I played only 11 balls, if I had played 37 balls I could have scored the fastest century like Shahid Afridi. “
The passion for cricket in Pakistan speaks loudly. Since Hamza Hameed is a part of this passion, scoring a century like every batsman is also his dream. “I’m trying to score a century in the upcoming domestic circuit event.” Hamza Hameed said enthusiastically. “My best score is 96 runs. Whenever I talk about it, I regret not scoring a century. I am working hard to score a century in the next event, not only domestically but also for Pakistan. It is my dream to score a century in an international match. I am also very grateful to the PDCA for giving me the opportunity to showcase the essence of my abilities. ” Hamza Hameed is also distinguished from all his siblings because he does not give up easily. He is hopeful that his dream of scoring a century in international cricket will come true soon.
As an opening batsman, while Hamza Hameed likes to play the new ball, his best short-core drive is his. Maybe, the beauty of cricket becomes more visible to those who watch his batting. He believes that he can do a lot in Pakistan Disabled Cricket. With the same determination to do something as a batsman, he continues to work hard.
