There is no shortage of people in the beloved homeland who dedicate their lives to a single good cause without seeking any praise or reward. One of such selfless and sincere people is Muhammad Aslam Bareach from Quetta who has been associated with cricket for the last three decades. As well as being a cricket umpire, he is an excellent administrator, man and A person with an understanding of the game and the player. He has been associated with the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association since day one, and in this regard, if his services have to be acknowledged in one sentence, it should be thoughtlessly written that the credit for introducing disabled cricket in Balochistan goes to Muhammad. Aslam Bareach, so it will not be wrong.
When disabled cricket was introduced in Pakistan, it was limited to Karachi. However, when it came time to form such teams in all 18 regions of the country to host the first National Disabled Cricket Championship, PDCA Secretary Amiruddin The choice fell on Muhammad Aslam and he too did not disappoint the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association. “It was definitely a very difficult task. You know that even good normal cricketers are hard to find in Balochistan, even if they are disabled cricketers!” ۔ But we did not give up and started contacts in all the districts of the province. Muhammad Aslam Baeach said. “On the instructions of Haider Lehri, we gathered boys from far-flung areas who were disabled but passionate about cricket.” We were just gathering the boys when the PDCA announced trials in Quetta. It was a matter of great concern to us, as the boys had not yet been confirmed and a trial date had to be set. “
Referring to this interesting situation, Mohammad Aslam further said, “When the PDCA officials reached Quetta for the trials and we were going to the ground the next day, I kept thinking that the trials were not known. How many boys have come to me, lest it be light and all the hard work be wasted. But when I got there, I was overjoyed when I saw more than 40 players on trials. You can’t imagine my happiness, but Amiruddin was happier than me, because it was his dream that was going to come true. There were trials, however, and very talented players appeared. The selected players were also given a match against the normal club the next day. Not only me but all of us were very happy to see that the disabled cricketers selected from the trials played a very good game in the first disabled cricket match in the history of Balochistan.
In the first National Disabled T20 Cricket Championship, the Quetta team played a very good Cricket, as all the regions were formed for the first time in the T20, so the matches were very good. In the first event, all the players were drawn from all over Balochistan but it was renamed as Quetta. Later, when the PDCA organized a five-team tournament, the participating team was named Balochistan. In the beginning, there were many difficulties in giving basic training to the players, setting their mindset regarding the game and making them full sportsmen. The good thing was that the simple players from remote areas of Balochistan were dedicated to learning a lot. “Apart from cricket, we taught them things that are useful in life and society, things that are usually not taught to the disabled even by their families.” Aslam Khan kept telling enthusiastically.
