KPK Physical Disability Team won the Quadrangular PDT Twenty20 Cup 2024.
Punjab PD was defeated by 16 runs in the final. Hammad Shaukat was declared the Man of the Final after taking 4 wickets with devastating bowling.
Special guests former Test cricketers Tauseef Ahmed, Arshad Khan, Imran Balwani, Shabbir Shoaib, Hassan Akhtar, Rashid Qureshi, Amiruddin Ansari distributed prizes.
The winning captain Zubair Saleem was given a beautiful trophy and the runner-up trophy was given to Punjab captain Abdullah. Shahid Wattoo was declared the Valuable Batsman of the Cup, Abdul Basit the Valuable Bowler of the Cup, and Tanveer Ahmed the Most Valuable Player of the Cup.
Karachi (Sports Reporter) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) PD medium pacer Hammad Shaukat’s devastating bowling took 4 wickets to become the champion of the Quadrangular T20 Cricket Cup 2024. In an exciting final played today at the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy Ground in the presence of cricket fans and regional heads, Punjab PD was defeated by KPK by 16 runs in a great match. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Ikramullah. After which the national anthem was played. The event between the four provincial teams is a part of the preparations for the international event to be held in Sri Lanka in January. At the end of the Quadrangular PD Cup final, the special guest, former Test cricketer Tauseef Ahmed, along with Senior GM National Stadium Karachi, President PPDCA Imran Balwani, Shabbir Shoaib, Hassan Akhtar and General Secretary PPDCA Amiruddin Ansari, distributed prizes. Valuable Batsman of the Cup Shahid Wattoo, Valuable Bowler of the Cup Abdul Basit, and Most Valuable Player of the Cup Tanveer Ahmed were given trophies. In addition, honorary shields were given to the match officials and guests. In the final, Punjab PD won the toss and put KPK to bat first. And the winning team scored 166 runs for 4 wickets in the stipulated overs. Muhammad Noman scored 33 runs with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes in 26 balls, Matlub Qureshi scored 28 runs with the help of a four in 26 balls. Rehmatullah scored 29 runs with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes in 20 balls and remained not out. Usama Arshad took 2 wickets. In reply, Punjab PD team was bowled out for 153 runs in the 18th overs. For Punjab, Huzaifa Khan scored an aggressive 45 runs off 18 balls with the help of 3 fours and 4 sixes, Mohammad Arsalan hit 3 fours in 36 runs off 17 balls. For KPK, medium pacer Hammad Shaukat bowled well and took 4 wickets for 29 runs while Tanveer Ahmed and Asif Kachhi took two wickets each.
