The journey of Pakistan Disabled Cricket continues today (Part 17)

The success of the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team in the tri-nation cricket tournament in England proved to be a milestone for the PDCA. The CA was highly praised. The Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team also celebrated the victory at the hotel on the same night. All the players and officials were so happy with their victory that they continued to feel the joy of this victory till the next day and even till their return to Pakistan. He was greeted with applause and encouragement by the spectators, who consider PDCA officials and national disabled cricketers as the best memories of their lives.

The great success of the PDCA was also lauded in the print and electronic media of Pakistan. News and pictures of Pakistan’s victory were published in all the national newspapers and articles were written on them. The success of the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team was also seen in the context that the Pakistan Cricket Team was to play the ODI Cricket World Cup here next year i.e. in 2019 and also the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team for the World Series in England. The schedule was being set. The players who showed outstanding performance by the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team were also well received in the English media, they were interviewed.

Pakistan cricketers and PDCA have all the news, photos, articles of this first tour of England safe which is definitely no less than a capital for them. If we talk about the performance of Pakistani players in the tri-nation disabled cricket series, it was not only important to win the trophy, but they also won the hearts of the English fans there, which can be considered as the most special thing. PDCA officials as well as national cricketers featuring prominent sports were invited on several Pakistani channels and their live interviews were aired while several channels also invited these national heroes in their morning shows and their Listen to the success story.

Pakistan batsman Muhammad Shahbaz Hanch topped the tournament with 239 runs at an average of 47.80, including a century and a fifty. His best score was 121 which he had already scored in the match. His strike rate was 151.27 which can be considered as the best in all respects. Saifullah scored 137, Hasnain Alam 108 in two matches at an average of 54.00, Wajid Alam 105 in 4 matches and Jahanzeb Towana 85 in five matches. Hasnain Alam and Wajid Alam also scored fifty for Pakistan. In this tournament, Muhammad Shahbaz hit 22 fours and 13 sixes, which is a good indication of his aggressive temperament.

In bowling, Pakistan captain Nahar Alam topped the list with 12 wickets at an impressive average of 8.33 in five matches, a testament to his consistency in bowling and the confidence placed in him by the PDCA. His economy rate was 5.04 while his best bowling was 11 for four. Muhammad Harris proved to be the second most successful bowler to take 7 wickets at an average of 14.71. His best bowling was 38 for three. Jahanzeb Towana took 6 wickets at an average of 20.50 and was the third successful bowler. His best bowling was two wickets for 28 runs. Muhammad Haris and Jahanzeb Towana did not bowl any ball in the entire tournament. Abdullah Ijaz had taken five wickets in four matches. His best bowling was five wickets for 22 runs. Waqif Shah also took five wickets. His best bowling was 24 runs for two wickets. (to be continued )
