Surprisingly, Pakistan’s disabled cricketers were playing cricket under normal cricket rules, winning and enjoying. This is what surprised those who covered and watched his cricket, including myself. It is a common observation that in other forms of cricket besides normal cricket, the rules and playing conditions of cricket change. For example, I was present at a normal cricket match of women whose rules are different from the normal cricket of men, the rules for cricket for the blind and wheelchair cricket are also changed, while in the cricket of the veterans, there are “arbitrary” changes in the playing conditions, but for disabled cricket. No changes have been made to this cricket rules and no demand has ever been made. However, there has been a slight change in terms of playing conditions, which the rules allow.
After the popularity of disabled cricket in Karachi and especially in Pakistan and an international tour, the sponsors also welcomed disabled cricket, the National Bank was very supportive of sports in those days. He also joined hands with the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association and co-operated in organizing the first Disabled T20 Pentangular T20 Cup 2010. The event was held in Karachi. When disabled cricket teams got a unique name in the style of an international league for the first time, the enthusiasm of the players increased more than ever before. It rained fours and sixes in the event, Balochistan surprised everyone by winning the event, it is generally believed that Balochistan cricketers can never win any event but in this T20 Cup, the disabled cricketers of Balochistan refuted this impression. And crowned the winner on his head.
The third National Disabled Cricket Championship was held in Lahore for the first time in 2011-12 and the host team won the championship for the first time. Its matches were played in the beautiful grounds of Lahore. Disabled cricket started from Karachi. The event was attended by all the teams that participated in the first and second championships. Multan, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore reached the semi-final where Multan and Rawalpindi lost and traditional cricket rivals Karachi and Lahore faced off in the final in which Lahore lost by 13 runs in a low scoring match. Lahore Won the trophy for the first time with great success. Former Pakistan cricket captain Inzamam-ul-Haq presented prizes and trophies to teams and players. He also said that he was impressed with the abilities of these disabled cricketers. I think the day is not far when international cricket each country will have its own disabled cricket team.
