Surprised cricket, as the Indian team was also participating in the tournament, the preparation of the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team started with enthusiasm. A training camp for selected players was held at the National Stadium Karachi. Pakistan already had a pool of the best disabled cricketers. Then in the same year Pakistan also played an international series with Afghanistan here in Pakistan and won the series so there was no problem in forming a strong team. This event was hosted by Bangladesh, India. , England, Afghanistan and Pakistan teams participated, all its matches were played on the basis of Round Robin League. Pakistan got off to a winning start by easily beating Afghanistan by eight wickets in the first match, after which they thrashed hosts Bangladesh by 20 runs on the daylight method, but their main match was still against India. Which everyone was waiting for.

Interestingly, the match was scheduled for September 6, which is celebrated in Pakistan as Defense Day in connection with the 1965 Indo-Pak war and its glorious victory. It is not known whether this was the fault of the host Bangladesh or just coincidentally, the match was played on September 6. The heartbeat of Pakistan disabled cricketers was random till the start of this match but when Pakistan started batting in the match then no batsman accepted any pressure and started beating the Indian bowlers. Pakistan scored 174 for 6 in 20 overs which was also Pakistan’s highest score in the event. Hasnain Alam scored 39, Rehan Ghani 34 and Danish Ahmed 26 runs. In reply, the Indian team could not resist much in front of the excellent bowling of Pakistani Shaheens and piled up 131 runs. Fayyaz Ahmed proved to be a hero for the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team who took four wickets for just 14 runs while Rao Javed and Nihar Alam took two wickets each. While this victory against India gave a lot of confidence and happiness to Pakistan Disabled Cricketers, this victory was also welcomed in Pakistan. This achievement of Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team was highlighted by all major newspapers of the country The news was also published on various channels as “breaking news”. Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team officials and PDCA officials were also very happy with this achievement.

After a thrilling match at the hands of England in the next match, Pakistan lost by eight runs. However, despite this defeat, Pakistan made it to the final which was commendable in the sense that it was the first tournament in the history of cricket which All the participants in the tournament were disabled and Pakistan was playing the final of the tournament. It should also be noted that the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has not organized any other event in this regard since then, so its importance cannot be denied. In the final, the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team participated with renewed vigor and determination but failed to achieve the target of 176 runs set by England and managed to score 156 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Nihar Alam’s 26 runs were also included. When the Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team arrived in Pakistan with the runner-up trophy, it was well received. After Pakistan’s participation in the tournament and India’s defeat in it, disabled cricket in Pakistan was further strengthened and more cricket enthusiasts across the country were attracted to the game. At the moment an ICRC representative Mr. Amir Ur Islam (Former Captain Bangladesh) was present here to observed the tournament while Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh Mr. Haseena Wajid inaugurated the tournament.
