Former captain’s address to the players on the occasion of training of national PD cricketers at a 2-day conditioning and skills development camp in Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi (Sports Reporter) Former captain of Pakistan cricket team, legendary batsman Majid Khan, visited the training camp under the supervision of Level 4 Coach Sabih Azhar at Ayub Park Rawalpindi to bring the fitness and skills level of the players to international standards before the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Team’s tour of Sri Lanka. On this occasion, General Secretary Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association Amiruddin Ansari, Regional Heads Javed Ashraf, Sajid Khan, Rafe Hashmi, Camp Incharge Sabih Azhar, Media Manager Muhammad Nizam and Rao Javed welcomed former captain Majid as the special guest. Amiruddin Ansari informed about the performance of the national PD team at the international level and the event to be held in Sri Lanka. On this occasion, Majid Khan congratulated the national PD cricketers participating in the camp and met the players. The former captain appreciated the efforts of Amiruddin Ansari for PPD’s PD cricket and in his short address to the national PD cricketers said that with complete confidence, continuous hard work and struggle, you can achieve success in every field. On this occasion, Amiruddin Ansari thanked former captain Majid Khan for his arrival and presented him with the PPDCA commemorative shield. More than 27 players are participating in the said camp. The previous day, the players of the Pakistan PD cricket team also participated in intensive physical training in the Conditioning and Skills Development Camp. The national cricketers are undergoing a physical training session under the supervision of Level 4 Coach Sabih Azhar. The players did physical training in the camp. Along with physical training and running, a T20 practice match was also played between the players. In which PD Whites defeated Team PD Green by 6 wickets. PD Green will be out after scoring 147 runs in the 19th over. 37 runs off 28 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes, Hazifa Khan hit 37 runs off 17 balls with 7 fours and a six, Abdul Khaliq added 21 runs. Zubair Khan 10 and Waqif Shah took 3.3 wickets for 13 runs. In reply, PD Whites achieved the target by scoring 151 runs for 4 wickets. Saifullah scored 56 runs in 39 balls with the help of 7 fours and a six, Rahmatullah hit 5 fours and a six in 37 runs in 21 balls. Abdullah Ijaz took 2 wickets for 22 runs. The 2-day training camp will end today (Tuesday).
