Karachi (Sports Reporter) Multan booked their place in the final of the Pepsi National PD T20 Cricket Championship after defeating Lahore by seven wickets, recording their third consecutive victory of the tournament. In the final Multan will face the winner of the second leg.
The championship, organised by the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association (PPDCA), continued on the third day at the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA) Ground in Karachi, featuring two more matches.
In the day’s opening fixture, Lahore batted first and posted 123 for six in 20 overs, with Shahid Wattoo scoring 33, Ateeq Jutt 31, and Muhammad Anees 18. For Multan, Jehanzaib Tiwana claimed 2 wickets for 29 runs, while Asif Khicchi and Muhammad Asif took one wicket each.Chasing the target, Multan reached 124 for three in 17.2 overs. Muhammad Zaman Ali starred with an aggressive 60 with six fours and two sixes, supported by Matloob Qureshi’s 31 and Jehanzaib Tiwana’s 17. For Lahore, Muhammad Bilal took two wickets and Muhammad Arsalan one. Muhammad Zaman recieved Player of the Match Award from RLCA Zone 2 President Muhammad Jamil.
In the second match, Karachi posted 138 for nine in 20 overs. Arifeen Arshad top-scored with 54 off 40 balls with the help two fours and four sixes, while Nooruddin Sheikh added 22 and Kamran Khan 14. Quetta’s Mithal Khan took 3 for 22, Ali Gachizai bagged two wickets, and Nazimuddin, Muhammad Irfan, and Nusratullah took one wicket each.In reply, Quetta managed 129 for seven. Saifullah led the resistance with 54 off 43 balls with eight fours and two sixes, Nusratullah contributing 23 and Amir Habib 22. For Karachi, Kamran Khan and Ishaq Junior picked up two wickets apiece, while Malik Sher and Ali Askar claimed one each. Former first-class cricketer Zafar Ahmed presented Arifeen Arshad Player of the Match award.
Among the attendees were PPDCA President Imran Balwani, Secretary General and Event Director Amiruddin Ansari, Head Coach Sabih Azhar, Quetta Region Head Aslam Badich, Lahore–Sialkot Region Head Javed Ashraf, and PPDCA founder and director Muhammad Nizam.
Matches were supervised by Waseemuddin and Muhammad Rehan, with Shakeel Sajjad officiating as match referee.The championship’s second phase will be staged in Islamabad.
